A lot of newcomers to Brazilian Jiu-jitsu get really worried about weight classes in BJJ tournaments.
In this video I answer a question from a viewer who is looking to gain a little muscle and weight.
He says that years ago he felt great being bigger and stronger. And his girlfriend even enjoys him being a bit bigger.
But his worry is about going into a heavier weight class when he enters Brazilian Jiujitsu competitions.
And he is wondering if his added strength will offset the size difference when he finds himself in BJJ competitions.
During the video I try to share the idea that you don’t always roll with people of the same weight class in the gym.
And if you feel healthier and more vibrant from the weight training. Then it’s only going to be a positive thing in your life.
If you’re in a similar situation or if you’re thinking about gaining weight for Brazilian Jiu-jitsu then I hope this video is helpful.
