Why is core stabilisation so important for sports performance? Your ability to hold your midsection in a stable position is CRITICAL in transferring power through your arms/legs, through your core and transferring it out of your arms/legs as you move an external object.
Take an arm drag in BJJ. As you the pull arm, you are actually transferring that power from your leverage point (the floor) through the body into the arm in order to move the opponent.
Make sure you include core stabilisation exercises in your BJJ strength work. This is one of my favourites.
