In today’s video we’re talking about how to roll with smaller people in BJJ.
Our question comes from Tommy who is a strong Wrestler who has a distinct advantage on the feet because of his wrestling skill.
He says that when he rolls with people he feels a certain level of guilt with his rolling partners.
The guilt associated with it is because if they’re smaller, he feels like maybe he should take it easy on them.
But he feels guilty to himself for not taking advantage of the situation to attack and work on his techniques.
In this video I discuss the approach I use with my Brazilian Jiujitsu training partners and what has been helpful to me on the mats and has made my game so much better than it used to be.
As I’ll talk about in the video. When I first began BJJ training. I used my A Game every roll.
I would go hard and just use the same techniques over and over again. But it wasn’t until I put a lot of effort into opening up and rolling with people differently that my Brazilian Jiu-jitsu abilities improved at a rapid rate.
I hope you enjoy the video. And if you’re in the same situation. I hope the video is useful!
