What do you do to train reactions and quick movements?
I’ve recently started playing with this reaction ball (cost $10 from a sporting goods store) one, because it’s FUN, two, training these movements is great to prepare the body for BJJ. Why?
The obvious application would be speed and reaction time when stand up fighting, the less obvious and MORE IMPORTANT application is preparing our body for sudden movements in BJJ. As slow and controlled as we like to make BJJ, sometimes we can’t avoid having to move suddenly. The more we prepare our to handle those movements off the mat, the better we’ll handle them on the mat and, in my opinion, help protect ourselves against injury.
