Dehydration can be a really serious issue in regards to BJJ performance. Our friend sent in a message recently where he had the toughest training session he’s ever been in.
And after the hard Brazilian Jiujitsu training he experienced a serious migraine.
He says that he has these from time to time but they are almost always due to dehydration.
The weird part for him is that he had a fair amount of water to drink, some sports drinks and so he figured he was good.
In this video I talk about a situation where I thought I was having a heart attack or thought something was wrong with my heart.
I was experiencing tightness in my chest following my BJJ training and hard rolling sessions.
After going to the doctor and having blood work and some tests done. I found out that it was more of a hydration issue than my actual heart.
It was an easy enough fix though.
After this situation I was able to fix the problem. Which began with less water, less coffee and more salt.
I also share a few other tips for hydration and diet related help to get the most from hard BJJ training sessions.
