This week on Caio Terra online @kbjiujitsu in 4k (compressed for IG).
Repost from @kbjiujitsu – Omoplata and Omo-fix finishes using the Lapel Lace 🪢 When I injured my knee, I was having difficulty playing positions from closed guard that I would frequently use to set up submissions. With having a compromised knee, I had to rethink how I could still maintain control without adding any stress to my joint and ligaments. I took my 2 favorite fundamental systems (the overhook position and the brabo choke grips) and found a way to work them together that didn’t overly depend on flexibility. This is just a bit of what I was able to create. Before black belt, I saw Omoplata as just a submission and really didn’t give it the respect it deserved, but as a black belt I consider it more as a position, much like lasso or closed guard, and it has become my position/submission of choice. The gi is a tool and I love discovering and learning new ways to manipulate the gi to help me control my opponents (especially when they are bigger/stronger than me). Try “lacing” up your opponent with their lapel next time you roll! Want the full breakdown? Check it out on Caio Terra Online Training at caioterra.com
