There’s a key problem with most kettlebell swinging movements, including the snatch. Driving through the heels. Why?

First let me make some clarifications. Swings need to be done heels down. Full stop. Snatches, cleans, high pulls etc, need to be learned first with heels down. But, there is a problem…

Only ever driving with the heels does not train extension through the foot, in addition to extension through the knee and hip.

Nearly every land based athletic movement requires driving and extending through the foot. So, for complete athletic and performance development, we need those movements in our training.

This is a more advanced move, that takes the right training to get to. But, know where you’re heading.

Pay attention to the feet in the slow clip.
