There isn’t enough space on here to articulate the impact that @ryrongracie and @renergracie have had in my life. Adopting their philosophical approach to the art and the importance of eating healthy is the main reason why my body is still operating and intact at 46 after more than 11 years of training. Their friendship and mentorship beyond jiu-jitsu has helped through the tough times and it has also been a blessing getting to know Eve, Victoria, and their amazing children.
Jiu-jitsu has given me so many things in addition to helping me better protect myself and others.
It has given me the confidence to engage with our #community, it has given me the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and connect with them literally and figuratively. All the outreach that I have done through skateboarding and music would not occur without jiu-jitsu being in my tool belt first.
I will do my best to represent the art and continue to use it as a way to bring people together.
Huge mahalo to @cole_koyanagi for the video. If you guys didn’t know, Cole is the guy behind the camera for the Squid Game Gracie Breakdown as well as the 32 Principles! 👏🏽🥋🚔🤙🏽 #police #jiujitsu #graciesurvivaltactics #outreach #aloha #makeadifference #aiea #oahugrown #trainweeklyorfightweakly
