Escaping Side Control can be one of the most difficult things to do in Grappling.
We generally have to options: Re-Guard our opponent or turn to our knees to either control their legs or their body.
But, turning to our knees can be very difficult and I see a lot of people struggle with it because they not understanding how to maximise proper arm positioning and body alignment to get the weight off of them so they can turn all the way.
Here, I cover one my most useful methods – one that is especially useful if the opponent is pinning your underhook.
