#tbt That one time in Seattle. June, 2020.
I had some very thought-provoking discussions with people who came to protest. Some people didn’t want to discuss anything, but many people did and that was awesome. It’s a shame we don’t come together and do that more often. Then, I met Ibu.
Ibu told me he came to Seattle from Lynnwood to protest. He was holding a large, black, floppy cylindrically shaped object and was waving / shaking it at all of us. He looked at me and said “speechless right?” I told him I had many thoughts, but many of them were not appropriate for a public forum. I said we should get some news stations with their cameras here, and have them interview me while he stands in the background. I said he should give me his cell and I would text him when we are dispatched to a hostile situation because his presence, hardware and dialogue would immediately deescalate any tense situation.
I asked him if he ordered the object from @amazon, and if so, how many drones did it take to deliver, and if it came in a package or if it was already used / unboxed. I said to the other people who were there that someone should come up with a hashtag for this and make it trend! Without missing a beat, Ricky said #deescalationdildo” and the rest is history. Thankfully Ricky also captured some of the dialogue, but if anyone has the rest please share it because the world really needs some laughter these days. Mahalo to Ibu for his creativity. 🤙🏽 #memories #daswhyhard #aiea #oahugrown
