The ‘Murder She Wrote’ Triangle Finish

Hi guys, I hope you like the title?! In this video, I discuss two ways that you can finish a triangle – when, well, you just don’t seem to be able to do it. Even when you seem to have everything in place. It can be frustrating right? I’ve been there. And that’s why I use these two little cheeky techniques when I am stuck. One of them I call the murder mystery triangle finish or the ‘murder she wrote’ finish. I hope you like these techniques guys. Go easy on your training partners when you try them. They can be quite intense.

BackSweep Into An Armbar!

The back sweep is very effective at getting your opponent to the ground. But once they are on the ground the battle of speed and position begins. If your partner places his elbow or hand to the ground and stiff arms you right in the chest. Guess what? you are going to struggle to move. But you might remember a recent video on how to deal with stiff arms. This is very similar. You are going to change shape and use that stiff arm against him. That’s defensive weapon he has just deployed. Can be used for an offense. For an armbar! Give this one a try guys. You will love it. Let me know how you go…

A Darce And Anaconda Drill!

How To Stop Stiff Arms

In an earlier video, much earlier. I discussed various awesome techniques to stop your training partners passing your guard. Each one of them works incredibly well. One of those was using ‘stiff arms’ – this means locking your arms out so that it is ‘structure’ not ‘muscle’ that is holding back your opponent. Believe me – it’s massively powerful. Spider Guard Into Triangle!

In this video, we look at another, and potentially very obvious submission from spider guard. But the reality is, it can really catch your training partners. The Awesome D'arce Choke – One Of My Favourites!

Proper body positioning should kill about 60-70% of the whole Half-Guard game. But you still gotta have answers for everything they throw at you. You gotta know how to pass its many variations in case they get in there.

How To Escape The Straight Footlock

Are you a footlock guy? or do you just hope that you don’t encounter them? and if you do, your plan is to just tap. Not the best strategy. And pretty bad if you enter a comp.
