This is not a common submission. But it’s not hard either. And it’s a little bit tricky. So can catch your training partner off guard. I am sure you will get submission success with this on the mat. Watch the video and give it a try on the mat…and let me know how it works out…

Check out a technique created for Felipe Pena called Pena choke. Very efficient way to surprise your opponent with your lapel and get the submission!

The north-south position is very common in Jiu Jitsu. Certainly it is in my academy! But the counter to it is far easier than people tend to think. What’s even better about this escape is that you can land directly into a triangle. Check out the video. Give it a try on the mat and let me know how it goes.
