Hi guys, I hope you like the title?! In this video, I discuss two ways that you can finish a triangle – when, well, you just don’t seem to be able to do it. Even when you seem to have everything in place. It can be frustrating right? I’ve been there. And that’s why I use these two little cheeky techniques when I am stuck. One of them I call the murder mystery triangle finish or the ‘murder she wrote’ finish. I hope you like these techniques guys. Go easy on your training partners when you try them. They can be quite intense.

We have had a look at the Darce choke and the Anaconda choke in previous videos. But I posted them as separate techniques and moves. Which is fine. In this video, however, I look at a great way to tie these two techniques together into a drill. That you can practice with your training partner – real easy. This will help you develop the sense and attributes on which choke to go for and when. What signals to look for. And you will get super good at these quick. It will become second nature to you. One of the big difference between BJJ and other grappling arts is the ‘closed guard’. However, as beginners, after we learn the basics we tend to move on without going very deep. Now for another submission from spider guard. There are just so many! This one is a little tricky but to be honest, when you get the hang of it, you will feel that it is just as easy as a regular triangle. This submission is, of course, the ‘reverse’ triangle. A little tricker to get and to complete to submission but totally doable. And guess what guys, no one is going to expect you to do this…just practice it and make it your move. It will happen in no time. Give it a try on the mat guys and let me know how you go…

This is a little class I did recently…where we worked through baby spider and spider guard in a little bit of detail. This video, focuses on using Spider Guard to execute a nice Tilt Sweep. It’s really a neat, quick and effective move. When done right, oh boy is it hard to stop. And the great thing is, all the time while your opponent is trying to stop a submission attempt…you can execute this move and be on top. Fantastic. Give this one a try on the mats guys.
