Kyuzo Mifune has been categorized as one of the greatest exponents of the art of judo after the founder, Kanō Jigorō. He is considered by many to be the greatest judo technician ever. Mifune is in his 70’s in this video and completely dismantles guys more than half his age and twice his size. His balance, timing and kuzushi are absolutely flawless.

Arguable the greatest judo technician of all time Kyuzo Mifune in his 70’s executing the most beautiful single throw(o guruma) I have ever seen. His execution is absolutely flawless!!

National level Judoka and MMA veteran Joel Gerson demonstrates a throw that is both beautiful and useful when going against a stiff armed opponent in a BJJ match. Usually in Judo, practitioners are penalized for being too stiff armed because it is stalling and it is too defensive. This “yoko tomoe nage” is a nifty solution of the situation.

I’m uploading this cuz it’s 50 years old and awesome. His unthrowability sections at 25:25 and 56:45, and ne waza at 30:45 minutes may be some of the most important footage for judo and aikidoists I’ve ever seen, IMO.
