When you have your opponent in your closed guard you don’t want it to be a fair fight. If you can make an angle then you get a big advantage that can be turned into attacks like a sweep, a submission, or taking the back. This is another closed guard sequence. The purpose behind sharing it is to demonstrate the difference between branches (different options in a situation) and progressions (additional attacks in response to counter).
The more progressions that exist in a sequence the stronger it will be.
(Also a note, the arm pull back response generally only occurs after the sleeve drag has been initiated not before.)
