So someone has you in mount – do you have an escape plan? do you have a methodology that works? that helps against that person that holds you in super tight? or perhaps that guy that is spread wide and perhaps a bit loose – so you just can’t seem to budge him / can’t bridge and roll him. Well, this video is for you. Here are two moves, when used together will get you out of mount (nearly) every single time. Watch the video, try it on the mat. And let me know how you go.

In this video, I discuss using the lapel to give you a little edge if you are being pinned by a big heavy guy. The Cutting ARMBAR To Sweep!
Now your opponent is doing all the right things. They are countering your cutting armbar technique the most effective way possible. But that is fine, that just opens them up for a sweep and guess what. You hold on to the arm – you still have the option to go for the cutting armbar again. Or a straight armbar. Or a number of other submissions. I hope you like this video and have enjoyed the cutting armbar series. If you have any questions please ask. In the meantime, give it a try on the mat and let me know how you go.

Escaping head lock control (Kesa Gatame) is part of our white belt syllabus. Why? because it is so fundamental to the sport of Jiu Jitsu. Some simple TRICKS to Make YOUR BRIDGE and ROLL Unstoppable!

Learn the tricks. And give it a try on the mat. Let me know how you go.
Part 3 of 5 – An Alternative X Guard Sweep – Into a Footlock!
It is not uncommon to have completed the sweep discussed in the previous video a couple of times – to suddenly have your rolling partner counter/push against it. No problem. Use that energy to your advantage and sweep the other direction. Straight into a footlock (or alternative a relatively easy pass). It’s not hard, it just takes a little practice. Try it out on the mat and let me know how it goes.
Part 2 of 5: The Incredibly EFFECTIVE Overhook X Guard SWEEP!
Continuing on with the Overhook x-guard series…we now look at a very basic sweep from this position. It might be basic but is sure is effective. Quick to execute against your opponent and opens up many submission opportunities. This is a taster and I think you will like it. Take a look. Try it on the mat. And let me know what you think.
How to Maintain 100% Control During Submission Attacks
Just because you’re going for a submission doesn’t mean that you need to let go of your opponent and potentially give up on a good position if the attack fails. In this video Rob Biernacki and I go over the steps to maintaining total control over your opponent all the way through a position, using the example of an S Mount Armbar from Mount and a Heel Hook Attack from the 411 position to illustrate the principles we’re talking about. I think you’ll like this one!
And if you’re a fan of this style of teaching and would like more then you owe it to yourself to check out my book on BJJ. It’s called ‘The Roadmap for BJJ’ and it’s available for free with zero obligation at http://www.grapplearts.com/book

In this video I discuss Two Hacks to GET THE SWEEP When You Are CLOSE But Not Quite There. That’s where these hacks come in. They help you leap over those last yards. Check out this video, give it a try on the mat and let me know how it goes…
