There’s many side controls but Twister Side aka Reverse Kesa Gatame has its benefits as do all positions but here I explain it
In this video I’ll show you how to literally steal someone’s Truck attack. I call it the GTA! But I also show how to never let it happen in the 1st place

We’ve covered this before but we go into a little more detail in this video on my go to side control framing/escape system. If you’re getting stuck flat on your back in side control, first learn how to survive and breathe. When the attack comes look for opportunities to fill the gap and free yourself so you can make the escape.

Today’s video is the 4th part of the series I started showing a really powerful, but sneaky, armbar I use in BJJ. If you’d like to go back through the series then use the link below.

The last part of the series I showed how to do a north south choke from the armbar position. Today I show how to setup a Kimura attack as a decoy. Basically what happens is as we attack the Kimura (which is a legitimate submission threat that you can finish anytime) the person is no longer thinking about their original arm or neck. This allows us then to transition to those submissions easier . . . if of course we decide not to finish the Kimura.
Hope you’re enjoying the armlock sequence.
And if you’d like to see more. I’ll be releasing a armlock focused submission course coming up soon. If you want more info simply keep your eyes out or sign up to my Chew Crew daily newsletter by using the link below:

In today’s video I share a powerful armbar that I’ve been using during BJJ training for the last 6-7 months. The armlock is also super sneaky because it doesn’t use the normal grips of most armbars in Jiu-jitsu. I also show some details on how to hide your grips a bit. Again, the purpose is to use different grips that the person is unfamiliar with so they don’t feel it coming. . . until it’s too late.
In Brazilian Jiu-jitsu I call this idea “flying under the radar” and use it whenever I can. You can breathe new life into BJJ techniques simply by changing the grips you use to set it up.
This will be the 1st video to start an ongoing armlock series from side control that you follow on the channel. This is one of the areas I’ve been working on personally so I figured I’d share some of the things that have been working for me.

Hope the technique and ideas are useful to you.
Thanks for watching.

When grappling I preach that the “common reactions” to a technique must be learned. In #BJJ as we engage in the #DoubleUnderPass one of the reactions is framing. Framing on the hip and framing on the shoulder are two different defenses that can be attacked differently.

This is a particular way to Mount from Side Control. It helps when there are submissions being attacked while advancing to Mount.
Details on the Mounted 1 Arm Guillotine and High Elbow Guillotine too!
Learning to hide your palm when attacking top side Guillotines will increase your tap %! It’s also import for the transition from Side to Mount.

Side control is the most oppressive and miserable position to be stuck under. There are as many ways to escape as there are variations of side control, but the question I am asked more than any other by people is how to get out of a heavy pressure side control. In this video I show a couple of the most effective strategies to get you unstuck from that smashy bottom position.
