I share how I thought I invented the baseball bat choke from the bottom. I had a lot of success with this move during my younger competitive years. I’m sure someone else had done the move before me but at least I can say I somewhat discovered it. Maybe you’ll like this variation.

http://teachmegrappling.com This video is an old pancrase fight I had in Kage Kombat back in 2001. In California, MMA was not legalized yet so the only full MMA/NHB fights were on Native Reservations. These rules were open hand to the head, closed fist to the body, elbow and knee the body only, kick to the head. Enjoy! If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please comment below. Our discussion today is about a company that is selling pre-worn out black belts and mat cleanliness.
This is one of the most common chokes from the back. This defense has saved me many time.
The single leg is an extremely useful takedown for a wide variety of contexts, from MMA to Street to Sport and is still the highest percentage takedown in BJJ competition.
In this video Gracie Black Belt Chad Malone and I look at some ways to enter into the single leg and some finishing options that aren’t too complex or require a huge degree of strength or athleticism. Chad has great wrestling for BJJ and MMA, and a record to show for it. He teaches out at Capital MMA & Elite Fitness in Virginia, where I was visiting recently to teach a seminar. It is an amazing place to train.
Also be sure to check out Chad and the guys on the Fight Philosophy Podcast, where they interview guests and discuss all things fighting and training. Here is a link:
