Temperrr from the wildly popular e-sports team, Faze Clan, came in to Gracie University HQ with a few friends for their jiu-jitsu intro class. They did great and at the end of class, Temperrr asked to spar with Rener to see how he would fare up, and Rener obliged (even though beginner classes usually don’t include sparring for safety reasons). Rener and Ryron (along with some special guests) are hosting the first-ever Street Choke Mastery super seminar, and all proceeds for the seminar are being donated to the Living Through Giving foundation and their #HashtagLunchbag program.

Gi is more street than no-gi, but the only thing more street than the gi is actual street clothes! In this one-of-a-kind three-hour seminar, Ryron and Rener will teach participants how to use the elements of any garment to neutralize and submit an aggressor from virtually any position. The seminar is open to all affiliations and all belt levels (ages 13 and up).

Street Attire Mandatory
All participants must wear gi pants and a rash guard and bring a loose-fitting t-shirt and a hoodie to practice the techniques. The clothing will be twisted, stretched, and possibly ripped throughout the seminar, so keep that in mind when selecting your t-shirt and hoodie. At the end of the seminar, participants will have the opportunity to donate their seminar t-shirt and hoodie, which will then be washed and donated to a shelter.

Includes GU Family Fun Day Admission
Seminar admission also includes entry into the GU Family Fun Day immediately following the seminar. All the family fun will be in the south parking lot with food trucks, acai bowls, jumpers, kid-friendly activities, music, raffles, and silent auctions. Anyone interested in attending the GU Family Fun Day, but not the seminar, can pre-purchase tickets for $20 ($25 at the door).

Today is Helio Gracie day, and it’s the perfect time to announce that after speaking to Luis’ parents, Brandon and Lauren Springfield, they have formally accepted our offer to bring the entire family (including Luis’ baby sister) to California for one week of Gracie Bullyproof training at @GracieUniversityHQ. In addition to training Luis, we will also be training his parents so the entire family will build a connection to jiu-jitsu. On top of that, the whole family will be sponsored for 12-month membership at the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Certified Training Center near their hometown in Tampa, FL.
