Cobrinha / Alliance Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Family,

After the most challenging year that CBJJ has ever seen, we’re now looking at our future with great optimism. It’s the perfect time to recognize that, together, we’ve just hit our 10 year anniversary as a Cobrinha Brazilian Jiu Jitsu family.  

As we officially are reopening and moving toward more normalcy, I can’t help but recognize some of the same feelings of excitement and nervousness that I felt 10 years ago when we first opened.  I’m grateful that this time, we have the foundation of our whole CBJJ family that provides a bedrock of positivity and purpose that did not yet exist then.

Much has happened in 10 years. You all helped me reach a huge competitive milestone in 2017 of being the first, and so far only, person to win the Super Slam.  Over these 10 years, we’ve awarded many belt promotions, including several black belts.  We’ve had students win at the highest levels in competition, and students who have opened their own academies all over the world. We’ve been able to watch so many of you reach your own personal and professional goals, whether it’s improving your health, graduating college, starting a business or career, or advancing in whatever you do.  It’s been a pleasure to see everyone’s encouragement & positivity, and the collective proof that BJJ improves life.  The most rewarding part of our time together has been the relationships that we’ve built.  I have no doubts that without this family and its support, CBJJ may not have made it through this past year in order to see this milestone.  

I want to mark this moment by thanking you for supporting us and supporting each other. I hope you share this same excitement – for our CBJJ family, for your jiu jitsu milestones, and for your health – and will celebrate with us what we’ve built together.  I look forward to what the next 10 years hold, and I hope that each of you will be here celebrating with us.

No final de semana passado o kennedy competiu no campeonato @emeraldcityinvitational com as regras um pouco diferente do que nos estamos acostumados, e que por sinal bem interessante para se testar.

Como funciona essa regra da EBI criada pelo Eddie Bravo.
São 10 minutos sem prontos com finalizações.
Se não houver finalização por ambas as partes, o atleta que dominou a luta escolhe a posição que ele quer começar.
O ATLETA tem duas opções.
1-Começar nas costas com os ganchos e o sinto de segurança.

2- Começa com no Arm Lock encaixado.
•
•
3- Cada atleta terá 3 chances de ataque dependendo do que acontecer.
•
•
O atleta que está atacando tem 2 minutos para finalizar e o atleta que está defendo tem que sair do ataque em menos de 2 minutos.
•

Resumo: Se o atleta finalizar antes dos 2 minutos ele soma pontos dependendo do ataque do seu oponente. Ou seja você tem que estar com a defesa e ataque em dia. 😂👊🏼

O kennedy fez 4 lutas.
2 finalizações = %50 de aproveitamento

Passagem de guarda = 100% de aproveitamento ( Máquina de passar guarda )

Defesa = 90% de aproveitamento
•

O que nos aprendemos com essas regras?
Nos aprendemos que nos temos muito para melhorar, mas também provamos para nos mesmos que nos estamos preparados para lutarmos independente das regras.

What did we learn about this rule set?
We learned that we have a lot to improve but we showed that we are ready to compete in any rule set.

Why do I say that?
Kennedy guard pass = 100%
Guard Passing Machine

Kennedy’s submissions attacks. 4 fights 2 submissions = 50%

With those numbers you can see how much this kid still can improve. This is scary!!!
