Don’t Make This HUGE Mistake With Your Arms in BJJ
If you make the mistake of flaring your elbows and your arms out when you’re doing BJJ then you’re giving your opponent a gift: he can use that opening to sweep you, submit you or pin you at will. Keep your elbows IN when you’re rolling!! You won’t regret it, I promise!

Easy Posture Break Against Strong Grapplers
I have been using this posture break since I was a kid. It works really well against strong grapplers that do not want to give up the double elbow drive.
If their elbows are not dug in and they are going two hands on the hip it makes it even easier you just have to pop the inside of the elbow and grab the backside. This leads into some really good attacks.
Sometimes you will run into people that just let go when you go for it and that’s fine. As long as your hips are free to move again?

Psoas Muscle Self-Release With Ball
The Psoas muscle is usually tight and tender in most people. Jiu-Jitsu practitioners are no exception since we focus on keeping our hips up and in to prevent guard passing. Releasing this painful, tight, and tender muscle can be a challenge, but this technique is relaxing and easy to do. Not to mention that tight psoas muscles can be a contributor to low back pain, which is another common issue with BJJ players. Try this technique out, you will have looser hips and less pain.

Breaking Posture in the Guard When Your Opponent Has a Strong Belt Grip
A strong belt grip means your opponent can create good posture and force your guard open. Here’s how to use that grip against him and set him up for chokes and armlocks to finish him!
The Best Neck Stretches For BJJ
This series of stretches are some of my go-to exercises for improving neck pain, decreasing neck tension, and improving neck mobility. As we train Jiu-Jitsu, we constantly engage our muscles that allow for shrugging of the shoulders to fight off chokes and submissions.
Also everyday sitting tasks such as working on the computer can cause major postural dysfunction. This series of stretches are some of the absolute best and most effective to stretch the neck muscles, reduce pain, improve range of motion, and keep your neck healthy for BJJ.
