Here is a way I have found helpful in explaining and illustrating some basic guard types to students. There are so many guards and ways to use them in Jiu-Jitsu that I can’t even imagine how long a comprehensive list would take. But this video outlines some very common ones that I think practitioners should familiarize themselves with.
