Get the 50/ 50 Position Take The Sweep Into A Footlock!

The 50/50 Position – Some people hate this position. But I love it. Why, well, probably because I use it. Sure the position can be used for stalling…which is no good… but if it’s used for sweeps and attacks – then this is the move for you. And it certainly is the move for me. Watch this video as I discuss how to use the 50.50 to get a great sweep and straight into a footlock or other potential attack positions. It sure is killer! Enjoy guys. The Awesome North South Choke!

This is one of my favorite chokes and a favorite of many of my students. There is a very effective counter to this choke and that is simply pointing your chin into the ribs of the person attempting to execute the choke..in this video I talk about how to deal with that move and in all probability increase the effectiveness of the choke. In the Gi – The Cross Choke is king. And it should be your go-to weapon. But it so often isn’t? why not? Well, it’s partly to do with the fact that your partner will know exactly what you are up to…and with the exception of brand new white belts. He might let you get that first grip in but will fight like hell to stop the second.
