The Matrix is one of the most powerful attacks from the open guard. This video I discuss how to combine it with an omoplata and triangle attack. The triangle and omoplta are 2 of the most foundational attacks in jiu jitsu, but both are often countered by an opponent strong posturing out of the position. This video I discuss the Shallow Lasso and Single Sleeve Control. This Guard is in my opinion one of the most important to understand in jiu jitsu because it is extremely easy to set up and allows for transitions to so many other guards, if you want to be able to set up berimbolos crab rides, matrix back takes, or de la riva guard you need to have good initial controls.
