And therefore a must for anyone’s game. Check out this video. It is super easy to execute. Try it on the mat and let me know how it goes…

Mount ESCAPE Straight Into A FOOTLOCK!
An easy mount escape – straight into a footlock. I love this as being mounted is a really tough spot to be in…and to turn that around into a tap is fantastically rewarding. The best news is that it can be done. I do it all the time and so do my students. Check out this video to see the details of the technique and then try it yourself on the mat. Let me know how it goes…

This is a simple concept but one I often see forgotten. Under the pressure of rolling or competition I’ve seen people do this…many times. But one you get caught in this footlock from crossing your feet from the back. You won’t do it again. It can also be turned into a powerful submission. Check it out, try it on the mat (carefully) and let me know how you go…

The Leg LASSO CATAPULT Sweep!
This is one of my favorite sweeps – The Leg LASSO CATAPULT Sweep! Why? because it also involves one of my favorite guards the spider guard. With a few tweaks, you can grab a sweep that is very difficult to defend and enormously effective. Watch this video, try it out on the mat and let me know how you go….

Using Different Attributes in Your Jiu JItsu!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDapeyxGYwQ
A quick Vlog from my Jiu Jitsu Training Trip in Dallas, TX. I’ve been training hard…and there is nothing like a plunge into a cold pool after a hard days training. I’ve been thinking about how we leverage different attributes in BJJ. People bring different characteristics to the mat…some its youth, some its flexibility some its strength and some its cardio. Thinking about your various skills and weaknesses and that of your opponents can shape the way you approach a roll. Remember to work and leverage your strengths and try and exploit your opponents weaknesses. Listen to this quick travel vlog as I discuss this in more detail…
