Honey Hole Setup – Back Step From Top Open Guard
This is probably one of the fastest ways to setup the knee bar or honey hole from having no grips whatsoever. When done right, it is like you teleported into the honey hole. 🙂
The back step into the honey hole should be a part of every leg lockers game. It is simple, quick, and efficient. The best way of setting this up is by feinting the pass first, so they get distracted and forgot about defending their legs.

Honey Hole setup from Top Side Mount
WATCH THE FULL SERIES ON https://FFAcoach.com
Most people from bottom side mount are worried about upper body attacks like arm locks and chokes. So when you fall back for a leg lock, they are really caught off guard.
Make that leg lock a 411 or Honey Hole and you really got them in a bad spot! This is a very simple setup from a very common situation where your opponent is distracted, so it is a sneaky way of getting into the honey hole.

Over Under Pass to Knee Bar with Marcelo Nunes
I got to jump into a class with Robert Drysdale Black Belt Marcelo Nunes and I knew I had to share some of his tricks with you. The guy generates more pressure from top than just about anyone I have trained with. That is saying a lot!
In this class, he went over an Over Under Pass series. In this clip, he goes over a sneaky knee bar from the Over Under Pass setup.
One of the things he does very well is apply excruciating amounts of pressure, so pay close to attention to how he drives from his toes and applies his body weight. It makes a world of difference!

Rolling Knee Bar From Getting Crushed
In my last video, I showed you how to prevent yourself from getting cross faced and crushed from the bottom when going for the knee bar.
Now the worse case scenario happens – your opponent bends his knee and is just about to cross face you.
I’m going to show you what my friend Bendy Casimir showed me on my undefeated black belt Jason “The Specimen” Soares. You will actually go fetal and curl up like a ball – only to turtle and roll through to once again recover the knee bar. This complements the previous swimming technique and works as a fallback if you didn’t swim in time.
Go ahead and take a look then give it a roll. 🙂
Jason will be competing in EBI 13 on October 22nd. If you are interested in sponsoring him send me a message!

Sambo Rolling Bent Armlock and Straight Leglock by Gregg Humphreys
Sambo is known for innovative and functional submission techniques and in this video, Sambo Coach Gregg Humphreys teaches the rolling bent armlock with a straight knee lock. Demonstrated by Derrick Darling and Mike Pennington.
Stop the Cross Face from Ending Your Knee Bar
One of the worst things that can happen after you hit the perfect knee bar is that you get cross faced and smashed within seconds.
Not only do you lose your hard earned submission, but now you are in a really bad spot. Well fear no more, this video I have my friend Bendy teaching a simple way of preventing the cross face.
Bendy is a BJJ Black belt and MMA fighter with a specialty in knee bars. He is to knee bars as I am to Kimura. 🙂
So watch this video and learn this simple counter to keep you in the hunt for the knee bar!

Why Submissions Don’t Work in the Street
Master Ken explains why many submission moves that you learn in competition martial arts like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu don’t translate to a guaranteed win in a street fight. In this case Ken thwarts Todd’s attempt at a knee bar with the power of Ameri-Do-Te. Learn more about Master Ken at www.ameridote.com
