When it comes to finishing the triangle, there are several potential responses you can expect and as you build up more responses for each of them, your choke finish rate will skyrocket.

How to Prevent the Stack Pass When Going for the Triangle
Not that long ago, I received a request for a video on hitting the triangle as a big guy without getting stacked, and frankly there are a few principles that anyone can use to finish more triangle regardless of their size. In this video, you’ll learn a few.
Two Random Lessons From My Half Guard Trickery Course
One of the things I enjoy the most is finding ways to punish opponents for their logical responses to threats. In those moments when they think they’ve successfully defending an attack, there are opportunities, and these two are ones that I use when they base out to stop the far leg kneetap in underhook half guard.

Details, Details, and More Details on a Common Overhook Transition in Closed Guard
More than two years ago, I attended a seminar taught by Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhães, and there was one thing that he showed that blew my mind.
It wasn’t some complicated or intricate technique either.
Nope.
It was just a small alteration to a transition that I learned when I was a white belt. I had to ask about it, and that one small thing was more than worth the investment.

3 Loop Choke Rules of Thumb for the Sneaky and Devious
These 3 rules of thumb for the loop choke have significantly made my attack better. If you understand them, not only will it give you better success with finishing the choke, but you’ll also start to see more opportunities for setting it up.
And also included are two setups for hitting the loop choke in kneeshield half guard. It’s ridiculous how often they work for me.
You know what though?
This rabbit hole goes even deeper.

Improving the Baseball Bat Choke in Kneeshield Half Guard
This a small adjustment in the grip that I noticed while watching the Magid Hage vs Clark Gracie match. It has made an instant improvement in my baseball bat choke in half guard. I’ve been hitting it left and right ever since.
The key with baseball bat chokes though is that they are cross chokes. The grips are just reversed initially to conceal the threat, and then a correction is made by rotating the body.
And that’s not all.
One crucial rule of thumb is that you will significantly increase the leverage if you can get your head under theirs. In a half guard, shooting the head under their chin as you close your elbow just makes the finish vicious.
And small adjustments like that make a difference.

A Stupid Simple Way to Pass the Lockdown in Half Guard
The lockdown has one purpose, and it does it really really well. It is a kneecut killer. The absolute worst way to get past the lockdown is with the kneecut.
But it also has a flaw.
And you can exploit the hell out of it over and over and over again.
That’s what I do, and now you know. But if you’re not satisfied with just this. I have daily newsletter where I share little sneaky tips all the time.

A Sleeve Drag Attack Series for Closed Guard That Will Make Your Offense More Vicious
This is another closed guard sequence. The purpose behind sharing it is to demonstrate the difference between branches (different options in a situation) and progressions (additional attacks in response to counter).
The more progressions that exist in a sequence the stronger it will be.
(Also a note, the arm pull back response generally only occurs after the sleeve drag has been initiated not before.)
