In today’s BJJ video I cover what I believe is a common misconception about White Belt survival in Jiu-jitsu training. This video is in response to another Chewy Q&A I did where I spoke about 70% of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is won and lost in the guard passing battle. This include passing guard, sweeping, not getting swept, guard retention, etc.
You can watch that original video where I discussed the idea to a White Belt who was feeling overwhelmed with techniques here: https://youtu.be/Lj_YN8wvxI0
Now in this video I talk about the misconception and break it down visually with Adam to illustrate my point. I hope this video helps you think of being able to survive in BJJ as more than just balling up and getting smashed on bottom. Because I believe if you’re strong from the guard passing (top and bottom) battle you’ll be ale to survive longer.
Hope the video is useful to you and your BJJ training.
Thanks for watching.
