In today’s video I share an idea about the 2 BJJ belts that seem to cause imposter syndrome and anxiety more than any other belts. You may disagree with this, but from my almost 20 years of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and speaking with thousands of people online it’s what seems to be the truth.
I share this because one of our viewers was recently promoted to Purple Belt and says she is experiencing imposter syndrome and a bunch of anxiety.
So in the video I share how I’ve dealt with imposter syndrome in the past with both Purple Belt and Black Belt and give some ideas on how to deal with it.
Hope the video is useful to you if you find yourself in the same situation.

This new guard pass technique has been a lot of fun working. Often when you throw your opponents leg to one side they reloop their other leg, but controlling their leg under the other makes it impossible to throw the leg over to defend. This is a new technique in working so I will be adding to it more over the next months.

One of the main defenses to the berimbolo off balance is to back step the leg high. If you grab your opponents leg when they back step you can easily knock them over and this sets up the berimbolo.
