A special tournament dedicated to supporting social projects, bringing together kids from different communities through the power of Jiu-Jitsu. This was more than just a competition—it was a celebration of effort, discipline, and hope.

From high-quality medals to warm, nourishing meals served with love to every child from a social project, every detail reflected the mission: to inspire, impact, and improve lives. Massive respect to Leandro “Leo” Gonzaga , the heart behind the event, for his tireless dedication to these young warriors.

The next edition is coming this July , and we can’t wait to see more moments of unity, joy, and resilience.

From a small rural town in Araricá, Brazil to the AZBJJL State Championship in Arizona , Enzo (12) and Valentina (16) are about to live a dream that once seemed impossible.

They’re the first two kids from our Jiu-Jitsu Tribe social project —founded over a decade ago—to travel internationally! This is more than a competition; it’s a symbol of hope for hundreds of kids training across multiple locations in their community.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “I’m too old for this”?

I’m not just talking about accepting challenges in Jiu-Jitsu, training, or competition, but in life as a whole.

The mini-documentary “The Diary of a Master” shows a bit of my training routine and competition day at the 2024 IBJJF Master Worlds.

The message goes beyond Jiu-Jitsu: it’s about showing that, regardless of age, you can continue to challenge yourself.

What is your inspiration to challenge yourself? Mine is my mother, @silvia , who at 74 years old finished another post-graduate degree and, soon to be 78, remains active and on the move.

Sam Crook is a first-degree black belt, 4-time IBJJF Black Belt National Champion, 4-time British Champion, and the Jiu-Jitsu head coach of the nonprofit organization FRANCIS NGANOU FOUNDATION in the Village of Bati, Cameroon, Africa.

His cousin encouraged Sam to start his jiu-jitsu journey to lose weight, and as a result, he began an impressive story that has led him around the World;

Sam has trained from London to Rio making stops at multiple places in between to capitalize on world-class training, all while competing as much as he could.

Since 2019 Sam has been a volunteer instructor for the Francis Ngannou Foundation. The social project aims to utilize martial arts as personal development tools, especially jiu-jitsu, and a way out poverty.
