Final Week Before the 2025 @ibjjf Pan Championship!
After seven weeks of training post-European Championship in Lisbon, today marked the last day of double sessions! Next week is all about cutting the final weight, maintaining workouts, and traveling.
I focused on recovery at @unfair.advantage.recovery and had a PT session at @control_physical_therapy to keep everything in check.
Here are 3 key tips for the final week before a tournament:
Prioritize Recovery – Ice baths, stretching, mobility work, and proper sleep.
Fine-Tune Your Nutrition – Stay disciplined, hydrate, and avoid last-minute drastic cuts.
Sharpen Your Mindset – Visualize success, control nerves, and stay focused.

Especially for master competitors, recovery isn’t as quick as it was at 21. In this video, I share three key points to consider when dealing with injuries and a strategy to navigate the recovery process.
Acceptance is crucial—you’re injured, and it is what it is. The only thing you can do is commit to 100% recovery and take the necessary steps to get there.

What is your training routine like?
Many of the people who follow my work are in the master crowd, though I know younger practitioners tune in as well. As you get older, balancing personal and professional responsibilities while competing in Jiu-Jitsu requires serious dedication and sacrifice—whether it’s time away from friends and family or maintaining a strict diet
, all by choice.
I’m fortunate to work with Jiu-Jitsu, giving me the flexibility to structure my training in the best way possible, guided by my strength & conditioning coach @itallovilardo .
The best advice? “Do the best you can with the resources, tools, and knowledge you have now.” Organize your routine in a way that’s realistic, stick to the plan, and most importantly—execute.
And always… listen to your body.
