A good half guard or knee shield player can be extremely frustrating to go against. Most people get swept or leglocked almost instantly from this position because they just can not pass it.
Here is an option that makes the half guard Just a little bit easier.
It did for me anyways!

The worst person to go against in jiujitsu is a grappler that can blend their passing. They can go high low be light and be heavy. It is extremely frustrating.
This pass has been working for me lately. I usually pass up high but I will mix in this pressure pass when I get slowed down.

This is one of my favorite ways to get passed the knee shield besides just standing up and disengaging. I use the shin to shin pass all the time. I usually try to frustrate the person by fighting grips and waiting for my opportunity than pull the trigger on the pass.

This Choke works! I showed it to one of my students who also has a YouTube channel @thejiujitsutherapist and he hit it at his last three ibjjf tournaments! I also showed this to my girlfriend and she hit it at her last Fuji tournament.
It is easy to hit you just have to see someone sticking their head out there and bam lock it on. The elbow to chest detail will stop your knee shield from getting smashed as easy. It makes it so you can pry their head up and use it to re set or go for this Choke.
Now sometimes your opponent will go into a death roll just be ready to take their back or the mount which ever you can get to first.
The idea of switching people out came from my roommate at the end. He helps out a lot with the recording and ideas for my channel so big thanks to Brian!
