This video I demonstrate some concepts for recomposing from side control when you have already connected your elbow and knee as well as recovering when you are in north south with a strong elbow frame in arm pit. These positions are the mid step from full escaping side control and north south, yet I see many people get to these position and not be able to full escape. I like to have students start in this position and work in escaping as it’s easier than escaping full side but also necessary to be able to escape. I focus a lot on using your outside Leg to recenter as well focusing on not allowing your hip to get turned away.
