How to pass the guard using pressure passing in no gi when you don’t have cloth to hold onto. More at https://www.grapplearts.com/pressure
This is a breakdown on how I go about dealing with the shin on shin position before continuing on to guard Passing. A lot of people make the mistake of trying to force the knee cut pass when it’s not available and get put in X-Guard, single leg X, or even heel hooked. It’s important to drive your knee to the opposite side and focus on getting rid of the shin first. Let me know if you have any questions dealing with this position.

It seems like I’ve been getting more and more questions lately about passing half guard from all levels of experience. These are the two half guard passes that get me out of more difficult half guards than any others. And if you’re still dealing with quarter guard in the process, I show a good way to clear it and a slick back take option as well.

Nic shares one of his favorite concepts for passing the guard.
The double Unders Stack Pass is a very powerful position. But, a trained opponent will recognize that he can make it very hard for you if he stops you locking your hands around his waist.
Here is an option for a quick pass to the back.
It looks like it requires a lot of strength but it is really pretty effortless.

What are some options after the Knee Cut Pass in BJJ?
This is the question for today’s Brazilian Jiu-jitsu technique video.
In this video I show some of my favorite options after using the Knee Cut Pass. You might also call this the Cut Through or Knee Slice Pass.
Whatever you call it, it’s a great pass for Brazilian Jiujitsu and is incredibly common.
One thing that will often happen when using the pass is that your opponent will attempt to get up to their side and turn towards you.
In a lot of cases I find my rolling partner or opponent digging for underhooks which is a good option for them.
When this underhook comes that’s when I spring my trap and use some of my favorite options.
A lot of times in this situation I look for my Step Over to the Back. And when working with the black position. At times I’ll abandon the traditional “Position Before Submission” attitude and just dive for a choke submission!
And I’ve found that to be helpful in a lot of situations.
So check out the video and I hope it’s helpful for you!
Talk to you next time!

The whizzer is extremely useful in all of grappling if used appropriately, and this variation using the shin can be very powerful. You typically see this used in wrestling, defending a single leg takedown. It is useful for the same reason in Jiu-Jitsu, as well as it’s applicability from butterfly guard.
. . .
Here are a couple of examples of what can come out of the shin whizzer from butterfly guard, leading to a couple of arm attacks, leg attacks and a sweep.
