In a recent video I talked about how I used to be unable to sit back on my heels. And how this made my worst position in BJJ being inside someones Guard.

Following that video many of you had questions about how I was able to develop the ability to sit back on my heels.

In this video I talk about the issues that this muscular issue created in my Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.

And then I go into detail about the stretches I used to fix it.

And for all of you who sent me the question about your tight knees, hips and quads in relation to sitting back on your heels. I hope this helps you out!

These really were the stretches that allowed me to have a strong Guard breaking ability and even cleared up a lot of knee stiffness I had.

Easy takedowns are the best takedowns. The best part about this takedown for BJJ players is there is no risk. Even if you miss this basic takedown there is no way for your opponent to counter or for you to end up in a bad position. It is obviously better to gain the superior position, control and take the submission safely from there…however, sometimes the element of surprise from a bottom submission can take someone off guard.
