Today’s BJJ technique video is with my student and 3X NAIA national champ in wrestling, Brandon. In the video shows a beautiful takedown setup you can use in wrestling or Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. It’s also crazy simple. The trick is that you’re going to have to drill it because it requires good timing.
What I like about this setup for BJJ is that it’s perfect for countering some of those pushing and collar tie exchanges that happen in BJJ where someone ties up but never shoots.
I’m currently drilling this setup and adding it into the mix and I hope the technique finds it’s way into your game too.

Today’s video is about how I got my nickname Chewy in BJJ. In the video I’ll share how I actually got the nickname because I elbowed someone in the mouth during my spazzy days as a White Belt.
