If youve ever noticed, most successful back takes and submissions come from a situation where the bottom man turtles to avoid a pass. But what happens in a submission only situation where a smart player simply accepts the pass? In these cases you dont see too many submissions or back takes. In fact, what you mostly see (without the gi especially) is the top athlete looking almost clueless as to what to do next in terms of scoring a submission. Anyone can score a back take or submission when given one. But how many athletes can TAKE a submission when an opponent is doing nothing but defending on their back? Being able to expose submissions on a purely defensive opponent once passed their guard is a skill that must never be overlooked

Quarantine work out of the day. Dips and pushups. 10-8-6-4-2-4-6-8-10. Try it with no rest or as little rest as possible. Stay strong and stay positive πͺπ @baseblocks @futurekimonos
Crucifix ππ»crackdownππ»cross body ride. Here i made a pass from a crucifix to a crack down position. Notice how in crack down i never allowed lucas to switch to a double and cover my hips by keeping a strong wedge behind his right arm and pressure forward towards his hands and head. Once the hand came out it was a matter of locking in a cross body ride and chasing upper body grips (back head and arm). Lucas did a good job pushing on my knees and making it hard to get a purchase on his upper body, forcing me to elevate him out to the side with a butterfly hook and open up his turtle with an elbow bump. Once one hook is in we all know what comes next. Diagonal control via power half, breaking him down to an unathletic position, putting hooks in, and securing my spot in the finals. @futurekimonos @kimerakoffee @ouchmedical
Attacking from turtle- Notice how i immediately knock my opponent down to an unathletic position which guarentees my 1st hook as he recovers back to an athletic position. As he tries to sit to guard i establish diagonal control by capturing the far wrist. After that, simple hand fighting broke through defensive hands for a win via strangle. 2018 no gi worlds absolute semi finals against no gi world champion and adcc bronze medalist. @flograppling
The response to the sale on my passing series has been nothing but incredible. So glad i could help everyone who is at home with nothing to do and to those who have wanted it but maybe the price was too steep. While the sale is over, people have really enjoyed my break downs over the last few days here on social media. This month is dedicated to helping people and keeping your minds active when your bodies cant be. For those of you who have the instrcutional, i speak a lot of the importance of chaining loose passing with tight passing. This is a perfect example where i use a toreando to force half guard to begin my passing. I hope you all are enjoying the quarantine the best you can. β€ This was no gi worlds male black belt absolute btw. @flograppling @bjj.fanatics
