@submissionunderground this is embarrassing guys. This ref you guys have fucks up more calls than not. Ive seen dozens of times where the calls he makes arent even close to being fair. Theyre so insanely bad that you think hes joking. Ive told staff about this on multiple occasions and urged craig to not compete with him as ref previous to this. This is the exact reason why. EBI ot rules are supposed to be one of the only rulesets where refs are taken out of the equation but somehow this guy still manages to fuck it up most of the time. Now, because of a ref, craigs hot streak is now over and he loses tens of thousands in brand recognition and straight up money for fights for losing a match he shouldnt have because of a completely incompetent ref. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE guys and it needs to change 1 way or another. What a joke. Stop with the shit 5 minute matches and get a ref that knows EBI rules. Sincerely- the 4 time ebi champion.
I spent over 6 hours last night reviewing this 9 hour instructional for you guys (seated guard) and pending final edit we will be ready to release tomorrow πππππ. I will go into an in depth explanation when it releases but for now enjoy some of these out takes (yes they’re in there)π @heysonnyy2 @bjj.fanatics @futurekimonos
Good morning world. Another fine example of shoulder crunch sumi gaeshi. So far we have looked at it as a sweep, as a way to enter the legs, and now a way to enter upper body submissions. So many things come out of this one grip. Open guard is dropping NEXT WEEK. @futurekimonos @flograppling @flowrestling @thirdcoastgrappling
Johnny D teaching the shoulder crunch sumi gaeshi back in 1998. I dont know whats better, the fact that the move everyone sees me use today was being used 25 years ago by John, the terrible flower shorts he has on, or the fact that he attempts to break someones spine in half in the same video with his experimental “spine lock” π. @danaherjohn is literally like having cheat codes to a video game. Sometimes i mess something up in competition and the next day he corrects me in the gym and tells me what i could have done instead (it happened this ADCC). Sometimes i ask him “did you figure this out when you rewatched the match or have you known this for years and have just waited for me to fuck it up so you could fix it?” and his response is usually along the lines of “no, ive been using this move since around 2003” and im like “π€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈ fml” ππ. Good luck to the rest of the world. We have the top 5 greatest minds in the sport all operating under 1 roof. The greatest thing he has ever done as a coach is teach me how to learn by playing the balance between giving certain answers and yet still forcing me to think independently to solve a problem. Im progressing faster now than i ever have in my career. withevery day that goes by we pull a little further awayππ.
Daily shoulder crunch clip for the day. Im going to sound like a broken record in this instructional about bridging the gap between upper and lower body. Hopefully this clips shows how important it is and why i sound like such a drill sergeant when im teaching itπ.
Since open guard is dropping soon, everyday this week i will post a video of me hitting a shoulder crunch sumi gaeshi variation on a World level black belt. This is from my 1st match with Pena, which i lost. I know haters like to say i got absolutely obliterated and it wasn’t a close match at all, but it was actually an extremely competitive match that lasted 45 minutes way back when in 2016. Pena likes to post this match where be finishes me once a week to live in the glory days. Its so old now i actually had to have it remastered before i was able to post π€£. Nonetheless, sumi gaeshi is something that John forced us to master very early on. I will be posting one a day for the rest of the week for you all to enjoy :). Cue hate comments in 3,2,1… @flograppling
