Learn Invisible Jiu-Jitsu under Rickson Gracie
Self.Defense.Unit Course
https://www.gallerr.com/sdu
Module 1 of Self.Defense.Unit presents 21 classic self-defense techniques, plus invisible Jiu-Jitsu — that is, the concepts and details refined over Rickson’s forty years of teaching and fighting experience.
In this course, you will learn much more than just how to defend against aggression. You will understand what the best strategy is for dealing with a given situation, and how important timing is. You will see the importance of connecting with base, and where the best lever can be found for a given position.
Every lesson in Module 1 is taught directly by Master Rickson Gracie.

Jiu-Jitsu Escapes | Hail Mary Submission Escapes
I am a big believer in backup plans at all stages. These are some very late considerations for escapes I refer to as Hail Marys. These are definitely not what you want to have as your primary or only option for escapes, and you would obviously like to never find yourself in these threats at all, but for last-second counters they are pretty solid.
A lot of these exist, but for time constraints I just chose some of my favorites.

Rubber Lapel Concepts For Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Rubber Guard In The Gi)
Using the lapel to set up gi shenanigans has been all the rage for awhile now. A fun series we have been playing with at the gym is the “Rubber Lapel” game.
With plenty of experience playing Rubber Guard the gi concepts are easy to apply instantly and this video is a great introduction to the concepts of the position and setting up the initial control.
There is something very satisfying about tangling up your opponent in their own gi, and all the options that come from this type of control.

Never Tap to An Armbar Again (or How Defend Armbars with Leverage)
Rob Biernacki shares 2 proven methods using leverage to defend against (and hopefully escape) fully applied armbars in BJJ, no gi grappling and MMA. We cover how Vinny Magalhaes survived Fabricio Werdum’s vicious armbar at ADCC 2011, the hitchhiker escape, and the technique Roger Gracie used to escape Buchecha’s armbar at Metamoris 1.
There’s a lot covered here, so if you want to jump ahead then here are the rough sections:
There are a few different sections to this video
– Overall introduction (0:00 to 2:10)
– How to position your body to lessen the power of your opponent’s armbar (2:10 to 5:10)
– The hitchhiker escape (5:10 to 6:50)
– How Rob has tested this technique (6:50 to 8:14)
– The limitations of this technique (8:14 to 9:24)
– I try this defense with some limited success (9:24 to 12:58)
– Thumb up or thumb down to defend the armbar? (12:58 to 13:35)
– The Roger Gracie vs Buchecha armbar escape (13:35 to 15:05)
– The critical importance of controlling the shoulder in the armbar (15:05 to 15:51)
– How to train this technique safely (15:51 to 15:57)
