In 2021 I broke my thumb, had surgery, got into a horrible car accident and couldn’t open my academy during the busiest time of the year. With that said it’s still better than 2020 and I’m thankful for that.

Em 2021 eu quebrei meu dedo, tendo que fazer uma cirurgia para reparar os ligamentos, sofri um terrível acidente de carro, e não pude abrir minha academia na época que geralmente temos o maior movimento no ano. Com isso dito, ainda tem sido bem melhor que 2020, e eu sou muito grato por isso.

People often ask me how I got my black belt in 3 years. In addition to the amount of work I put on the mat, I put equal amount of time in studying and evolving my mind. This is important and why at Caio Terra Online I don’t just teach techniques of a world champion, I try to teach you to think like a world champion.

As pessoas sempre me perguntam como eu peguei a faixa preta em 3 anos. Além das muitas horas de dedicação no tatame, eu coloquei o mesmo empenho em estudar e evoluir a minha mente. Isso é muito importante e o motivo de eu tentar ensinar mais do que técnicas de um campeão mundial, e sim como pensar como um campeão mundial.

Mostrando o que se passa pela minha mente em determinadas situações e o motivo das minhas reações, fica mais fácil pra você entender o conceito de cada detalhe. No fim é sempre o “por que” que faz a grande diferença, não o “como”.

This weekend Mason successfully defended his title for the 7th time! He is now 11-0 in SUG and has finished 4 of his last 5 victories in regulation.

I always say trust the process and do the work. So many times people miss training and give excuses. I always say you can tell me any excuse you want to not show up or miss practice, but in the end that only hurts you, not me. Mason embraced this and showed up.

Proud of all he’s done and excited to see what he is able to accomplish in his career once it’s over. Congrats Mason!!

Esse fim de semana o Mason defendeu com sucesso pela 7a vez o seu cinturão do SUG (franquia do UFC de grappling). Agora ele está 11-0 na franquia e finalizou 4 de suas últimas 5 vitórias.

Eu sempre digo para confiarem no processo e treinarem bastante. Muitas vezes as pessoas faltam o treino e dão desculpas. Eu também sempre falo que não importa a desculpa para não aparecer ou não treinar, porque no fim quem sofrem as consequências são eles, não eu. Mason abraçou isso e apareceu em todas as aulas.

Orgulhoso de tudo que ele tem feito e animado para ver o que ele ainda pode conquistar em sua carreira. Parabéns, Mason!

First to score is a game I enjoy playing in my academy. It teaches us a lot of things, one of the most important is to be patient. One wrong reaction and it’s over. Take the time, work on improving the position and focus on the details. In the end you will learn more, evolve faster and get better.

Uma reação errada e já era… Não se precipite, trabalhe ajustando cada posição e fique focado nos detalhes. Assim você irá aprender e evoluir mais rápido.

People ask me all the time to help them become a champion. I tell them the path that they will have to take and they often refuse to walk it. For them their journey will be hard, if not impossible. When they hear this they always ask why don’t I believe in them?

The answer is because it takes more than faith to win or be good at anything. It takes hard work, consistency and dedication. It’s not what you will do tomorrow that counts, but what you do today. How we live our days is how we live our lives.

Pessoas sempre me perguntam se eu posso ajudar elas a se tornarem campeãs. Eu as digo o caminho pelo qual irão ter que percorrer e geralmente elas se recusam a caminhar. Para essas pessoas, suas trajetórias serão bem difíceis, se não impossível. Quando eu as digo isso elas sempre perguntam por que eu não acredito nelas?

A verdade é que só “acreditar” não basta para ser um campeão ou ser bom em qualquer coisa. É necessário se dedicar, trabalhar duro e ser constante. Não é o que você faz amanhã que conta, é o que você faz hoje. A nossa vida é um reflexo de como vivemos dia pós dia.
