Today we are covering the flying triangle. An extremely dangerous submission if done incorrectly. You must take a leap of faith with no hesitation at all or crash and burn. But it is important to learn this submission because she people have made a career off this technique. It is extremely hard to show slow but here is what I am doing.
Im getting a collar grip overtop of my opponents grip. I’m depending on him to keep ahold of the gi and for me be fast enough to lock my legs before he lets go. I’m pulling the person into my triangle with the grip by just falling/ jumping back. By me hanging on to his collar it drags him into the triangle.
Im putting my hand towards the floor more for me to break fall rather than shoot myself up in the air.

The shotgun armbar is very sneaky. It will blow you away because it a shotgun…. haha lame joke. But anyways! I’ve been working on this armbar for a few years now and I’m starting to love it more than the traditional armbar.
You can catch people off guard very easily and it allows you to make different transitions even if you don’t get the armbar. You still end up with a tap or a sweep. So it is a win win for you.
It’s a fairly simple technique as well so it can be added to your arsenal in no time. you just have to get the initial opening your guard and stretching them out part down than you’re good to go.
Here is a video of me using the same grip for another armbar in a tournament
P.S. no liabilities

When I was first starting out in jiujitsu I was 11 the only kid in class. Everyone else was 3x my size! As I started getting older and better I was able to start getting to top positions a lot more.
But the problem I ran into was if I tried to hold the mount I would get launched across the room. I tried going to fat boy mount and it just wouldn’t work on someone to big and strong.
So I learned that I don’t always have to keep the mount. Sometimes it is better to just switch off to knee on belly than go back if possible or circle to the back. I mix this in with the fat boy mount and I can usually keep to position much easier now.
