The triangle choke is one of the most foundational submissions in jiu jitsu, and it can be set up many different ways. This video I go through in my opinion the most effective and useful ways to set up the submission. I include a lot of competition footage from Edwin Najmi, Tommy Langaker, Felipe Andrew and more. The main set ups I go through are from Flying Triangle, Collar Sleeve, Double Sleeve/Deep Lasso, Closed Guard, and top of side control.
This video Majid teaches a great way to use your jab to setup your right hand. Check out the details and you are sure to find something useful! Enjoy! If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please comment below. More videos to come! Please like, share, and subscribe!!

Surrender Feigning surrender so that your opponent let’s their guard down.
In combat, most of our actions are predicated on what we perceive to be the mental state of our opponent. If our opponent is over aggressive and over-confident, we will often take a defensive posture and mindset. Alternatively, when our opponent is tired, exhausted or weakened, we are more likely to make our advances. With this in mind, it’s easy to see how feigning compliance or surrender in a specific situation can lure your opponent into making a move that you are not only anticipating, but prepared to capitalize on. Like a magician’s use of misdirection, your success with this principle lies in your understanding of human nature, and the ability to disguise your true intentions. On offense, this principle is often used to overcome a strong focused defense by luring the opponent into a false sense of security. On defense, this principle can be used to conserve energy and create escape opportunities when movement is heavily contested.
The final 8 principles are released on October 1 (Helio Gracie Day). 🙏🏼

Recently I ended up getting sick and tested positive for the virus. You know which one. This video was recorded a little over a week after my symptoms started to subside and after testing negative. In the vlog I’ll share my experiences and my 1st workout back after getting back to normal. I’ll also show you our garden at the house.
I’ll keep you updated with how I feel coming back to rolling and getting back to my normal routine.
Hope you’re doing well and hope you enjoy the video.

Today’s BJJ technique is a mount escape that I like using against people that are bigger or stronger than me. Granted you can do the mount escape just fine if the person is the same size or smaller than you. But it works great when your bridge isn’t very effective at off balancing someone. . . a problem that’s pretty common against bigger stronger opponents in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
In the video I’ll go over some basics about mount like setting up frames and being mindful of arm positioning. But overall it’s a simple escape that you can add into the mix at your next Brazilian Jiujitsu training session.
If you’re a half guard player and have either watched my half guard videos on the youtube channel or have my Half Guard Sweeper series then you’ll notice that the escape puts you right into the half guard with the outside hook. Which is a great sweeping position.
Anyways, if you’re struggling to escape full mount against bigger stronger opponents then I hope this technique helps!
