When I started my jiu jitsu journey I only felt safe playing from the bottom. Even as black belt. But I had to make a change to be in the high competitive level. It took me a while To feel comfortable on the top. The transition was uncomfortable. Horrible. I used to get lost and insecure. It took many years of trying and errors. Nowadays my top game is as good as my bottom game in all aspects. Is all about the search. If you search , sooner or later you will find .

Quando comecei minha jornada no jiu jitsu, só me sentia seguro jogando por baixo. Até como faixa preta. Mas tive que fazer uma mudança para estar no alto nível competitivo. Levei um tempo para me sentir confortável por cima. A transição foi desconfortável. Horrível. Eu costumava ficar perdido e inseguro. Demorou muitos anos de tentativas e erros. Hoje em dia o meu jogo por cima é tão bom quanto por baixo em todos os aspectos. Eh soh se comprometer am procurar as respostas. . Quem procura acha.

I remember as a brown belt that was one of the guards I struggled the most because I didn’t understand how to position myself and what grip I can use in order to get the pass. This is the way I learnt from Professor Braulio, if you have account on Estima in Action probably you have seen him doing this pass lots on me 😂

My very first tournament as black belt and this was my First big test against the current world champion Cassio werneck at the Pan Ams 2004. Manage to execute my favourite sweep twice. It was a big reassurance I was in the right path 🙏🏽thank you @ibjjf for the memories.
