I love muscle cutters and often go to them as a first option when I attack the legs.
For me, fighting for a kneeler is a lot of work since it’s such a powerful limb. But, the nice thing with this attack is that it works off their most common defence. And, if they defend the Calf attack, I can go back to the kneeler.

I call the position I start in The Overhook Guard. It was one of the first closed guard attack positions I learned (It was so central to my team’s game that some called it Hub One).
Here is an Old School Armlock from this position.
This was the way the Armlock was often performed in Traditional Jiu-Jitsu (and one that Grandmaster Helio often taught) because it was safer from a Self-Defense perspective.
Here is a great technique for when you attack the Kimura from half guard top and they defend by gripping their belt or pants.
I’ve been gone for a while but I will be back making new videos.
I will be making a video soon explaining what’s going on but the short version is I have moved to the Black Forest in Germany and have opened a new school there called Gracie Schwarzwald.
Please find us on facebook and Instagram (Gracie Schwarzwald, in both cases.)
I am working on new content and new DVDs so please like and follow this page and my school pages.
In this video, I’m doing one of the first sweeps I ever learned – I hope you enjoy it and look for more new videos soon.
