Usually in Judo, practitioners are penalized for being too stiff armed because it is stalling and it is too defensive. This “yoko tomoe nage” is a nifty solution of the situation.

A lot of people suffer from paralysis by analysis, always postponing their performance training until they have the best training tool, the best training situation or the best training partner. In this segment Marcelo Garcia shares a 2 on 1 hook sweep, along with a couple of variations for if you loose your controls on the arm. When grappling nogi, it is much easier to loose the grip controls so it’s important to practice this technique with the variations until it becomes second nature. Think of variation number one as a gift from your opponent, but be ready with variation two and three if you find they’re not in such a giving mood!

I look at three different drills to work on Takedown defense(which we will refer to as takedown attack).Its more of an attitude than a change of technique.You must make the opponent pay for every shot and takedown attempt he makes,so that he statistically will stop shooting on you in total despair.
