Solo BJJ drills are no replacement for the real thing. But solo BJJ drills can be a great way to get some movement in when a partner is not available. Maybe when you’re at home or unable to roll.
In this video I share 11 solo BJJ drills you can do on a stability ball that will help build your guard passing game and hip movement.
You can also turn this into a solid stability ball workout by performing each drill for 45 seconds to 1 minute and moving through each drill without rest. Then take a couple of minutes and then repeat if able.
I’m a big fan of movement so these drills are great for that.
I hope these drills help you with your BJJ and maybe sparks some ideas of your own!
Thanks!
-Chewy

Here are 20 entries to the inside sankaku position for no-gi jiu-jitsu and submission grappling. The inside sankaku (inside triangle) position is perhaps the best position for finishing one of the most powerful submissions in all of grappling, the inside or “inverted” heel hook. Thank you very much to John Sanchez for helping with this video as well as my training partners at Veneration BJJ and 360 BJJ for putting me in positions everyday that force me to create new strategies. Also, a special thanks to my Brazilian jiu-jitsu professor, Dave Rosenmarkle as well as my other instructor, Scott Huston. I would also like to point out that while I have independently discovered potentially unique ways of achieving this position through empirical research, my approach to achieving (and even inspiration to achieve) this position is directly influenced by the groundbreaking work of the Renzo Gracie Academy, including Eddie Cummings, Garry Tonon, Gordon Ryan, and of course, John Danaher. Without the priceless knowledge they’ve given us through their matches, tutorials, and interviews, it is likely that few, if any of us in the jiu-jitsu community, would be attacking the lower body with as much technical proficiency, and for that, we all owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude.

The S mount is one of the hardest mounts to escape from and offers plenty of attacks, like the Armbar I want to show you in this video.
It’s a slow, step by step armbar, that’s very hard to stop, even if your opponent knows what you are trying to do.
If he tries to defend it by locking up his arms in a figure 4 position (most people will do), make sure to watch the video until the end where I show you how to get rid of his defenses.

So this may not shut down every attack the guy offers, but it’s often enough to get him to change directions, which might offer the opportunity you need to re-establish a stronger position.
Good luck and let me know how it works out for you!
