Black-Belt/Adult/Female/Light – Final
This is one of the most common chokes from the back. This defense has saved me many time.
This video I discuss the concepts of how I go about shutting down the open guard. I categorize Passing Open Guard into two different aspects, One is passing before your opponent has established any particular grips or guards on you, and the second is learning how to shut down each individual guard separately. It’s important to learn how to pass and become comfortable in many different Open Guard positions because the reality is you will often not be able to pass before the establish at least one grip. Let me know your thoughts on which positions are giving you the hardest time.

I’ve been playing around with this submission for a few years now and it really works for me. The body triangle is my favorite thing to do from the back and I thought to myself “hm, how can I make this position even more miserable for people” (True story)
Eventually I notice when I got the body triangle people didn’t focus on the bottom arm because it was already trapped and their stomach was exploding. So I used the leverage from them trying to turn out of the triangle to control their arm.
Give it a try let me know what you think!

Black-Belt/Adult/Male/Light-Feather – Final
The single leg is an extremely useful takedown for a wide variety of contexts, from MMA to Street to Sport and is still the highest percentage takedown in BJJ competition.
In this video Gracie Black Belt Chad Malone and I look at some ways to enter into the single leg and some finishing options that aren’t too complex or require a huge degree of strength or athleticism. Chad has great wrestling for BJJ and MMA, and a record to show for it. He teaches out at Capital MMA & Elite Fitness in Virginia, where I was visiting recently to teach a seminar. It is an amazing place to train.
Also be sure to check out Chad and the guys on the Fight Philosophy Podcast, where they interview guests and discuss all things fighting and training. Here is a link:

If you’ve been doing jiu jitsu long enough, you know that sometimes your technique just doesn’t go as planned… so you always have to have a Plan B! In fact, sometimes the best submissions come off a failed technique… Check out the highlight below to see how Kaynan capitalizes on a failed scissor sweep to hit a triangle choke, then watch the video at Atos Online to find out all the details that will take your guillotine game to the next level!

Want to learn a slick Armbar for BJJ in the Gi? Want ADAM to teach it? Well then this is your video.
We’ve had several requests for Adam to teach a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu technique on the channel. And in today’s video I step aside and allow our favorite Uke to demonstrate a technique of his own.
That’s right the tables have turned on Chewy and Adam for this video.
This Armbar variation is primarily for the gi as it will involve a gi speific grip on the belt. While it could be adapted for no gi as well. It’s a gi move.
So if you’re looking for another Armbar to throw into the mix than I hope this Brazilian Jiujitsu technique is useful for you.
Give it a try the next time you’re in this position when rolling or training.
Oh and if you enjoyed the video! Throw Adam some love in the comments. 🙂
