During this no gi rolling session the big thing that came out at me was that my students are getting wise to the techniques I’ve been working on to take the back and get to back mount. In several of the rolls during that day my students stopped my back take and armbars I’ve been working on which forced me to do other stuff.
During the video you’ll see me go for my rolling back takes and other Chewy favorites only to be blocked. I’m both happy about this and now having to go back to the drawing board to figure out new ways to setup the techniques or whether or not I should give them up for a bit.

This was recorded in California a few years ago when Sebastian Brosche was over there competing. BJJ black belt Sebastian Brosche and the wrestler competed for $20 and obviously had loads of fun too.
Hopefully you laugh at the playful competition between the two as it is just another example of the fun of jiu jitsu vs wrestling.
Sebastian is also a judo black belt so you can see him test his judo vs wrestling too using some judo throw attempts.

Stiffness and tightness in the mid back (Thoracic spine) is a common issue due to the positions of Jiu-Jitsu as well as every day life that includes extensive sitting among other activities that forces our spine to round.
This can lead to a rounded posture, decreased mobility, and general stiffness in the mid back which can impact neck, shoulder, and low back function.
In this quick series, I show you exercises that I focused on after I experienced tightness in the mid back after BJJ class.

BMAC uses this position to drain the life out of his opponents and to convince them that getting armbarred would be a much more pleasant way to escape the discomfort rather than having your diaphragm CRUSHED.
The beauty of this S-Mount is how uncomfortable it is for the bottom person & how persuasive it can be to make the opponent make poor choices, making our job of submitting MUCH easier.
