I like this takedown sequence a lot from the underhook side major inside trip attempt. If the opponent back steps on that attempt, the transition to the minor outside trip is there on the other side.

I glossed over the fact that you can snag a very simple one arm choke from the back crucifix. It’s a simple thing to try that doesn’t cost you anything to go for. But, if that fails, we can go to our leg hook. But what if the opponent walks away from you and prevents the leg hook?
That’s when the side triangle kicks in. I like side triangles a lot, as they are like having a front headlock, but using your legs instead of your arms. The triangle itself can be brutal, but you also can lock up a modified Kimura, wrist lock, or a top side Kimura mouse trap.

That’s a long name, but we have a few moves going on back to back. Once we establish the back crucifix, we can then move to an even tighter crucifix by using a leg hook. Once that leg hook is in place, the bottom player is in all sorts of problems. It is a very difficult position to escape, as now both their shoulders and hips are locked up.
This is when we can utilize the butt roll to take their back. What is nice about this setup is that the opponent’s arm will be trapped as you take the back, leaving them with little recourse but to tap.
