Analyzing the electrifying guard passing game that Andrew Tackett displayed at CJI, he completely obliterated two of the best guard players in the world: Nicky ‘King of Cardio’ Ryan and Eugene ‘Owen’ O’Flanagan, with incredible pace, relentless pressure, and a touch of police brutality.

This past weekend at the ADCC & CJI events I met a lot of you guys who were new gym owners.
One constant issue that I heard younger gym owners running into was, especially if you were a competitor, was this:
You feel driven to improve your students’ skills but don’t want to let your own skills worsen.
So most young coaches run into this dichotomy of self-improvement & selflessness in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Today I’ll try to give my best solution to this problem, and if you’re a young coach then I hope you found these ideas in this video helpful.
Thanks for watching.

Ryron and Rener traveled to Ohio to present the SafeWrap™ system the Department of Public Safety. This is the first time the system has been presented to leaders at all the essential public safety sectors in a State at the same time: Highway Patrol, EMS, Fire, Corrections, School Safety, Healthcare/Hospitals, and Local Police/Sheriff Departments.
We look forward to the day when all law enforcement officers, all first responders, and all healthcare professionals speak the same language when it comes to the safe and effective restraint of aggressive, suicidal, or emotionally disturbed individuals. Lives will be saved.
The class started with four of the officers in attendance trying to take Rener into custody using conventional prone restraint, and based on the outcome, the need for a safer and more effective alternative has never been so clear.
SafeWrap is a proprietary system of lateral restraint that requires a license for use. For more information on instructor certification, visit http://www.SafeWrapSystem.com
ADULT / BLACK-BELT / FEMALE / LIGHT – FINAL
Piter Frank made this submission look easy.
This was WILD! In our Gracie Survival Tactics (GST) program for law enforcement we actually teach several submission counters (Guillotine Counters, Triangle Counters, RNC Counters, etc.) in case an officer ever finds themselves in an altercation against a suspect who has some BJJ or MMA training.
Last Sunday, August 18, at 2am, Louisville Metro PD Officer Mason Barnes put his GST to work when he found himself in a ground fight against an armed suspect. Instead of panicking, Officer Barnes was able to remain in control from the bottom of the fight, and use the “Triangle Set-up” position that we teach in GST to neutralize the attack and retain control of the suspect’s gun-side arm until help arrived.
We’re very proud of Officer Barnes and have extended an invitation to sponsor him to any upcoming GST course where he can learn the SafeWrap system.

This week’s video continues directly on from Cole’s last video showing the basics of the lapel guard choke. Fixing the grip will make the choke extremely tight and it can even be applied with one hand.
